Counselling & CBT

I work with both adults and young people offering Counselling & CBT Sessions in a number of different areas ranging from:

  • Anxiety, Stress and Depression

  • Lack of motivation, drive and ambition

  • Challenges at school

  • Low self-esteem and self-worth

  • Self harm

  • Eating disorders, phobias and fears

  • Trauma

  • Relationship and family breakdowns

  • Bereavement

  • Mental Health Challenges

  • All other life’s challenges.

I believe passionately that having the right support can enable anyone to work through the challenges and setbacks that stop them from feeling as well as being the very best version of themselves.

What is Counselling?

Everything you need to know

Counselling falls under the umbrella term ‘talking therapies’ and allows people to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter, in a safe, confidential environment. However, the term can mean different things to different individuals. It is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth.

What is CBT
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy?

CBT looks to combine both cognitive therapy and behavioural therapy in order to tackle the thought process and the resulting behaviour. Focusing on the present, CBT is a practical therapy that aims to break down problems into smaller, more manageable issues. This therapy is especially useful for those with more specific problems as it addresses each emotion separately.

How does it work?

Sessions are delivered on a 1:1 basis and last for 45 minutes. I have a Therapy Suite based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. If you would like sessions for your child/young person and they are under 16 then I am happy to come and deliver sessions at your house. If you prefer for sessions to be delivered outside the family home as you feel it would be beneficial for their well-being and engagement then that is also fine. I would just need to have signed consent from the parent/carer and make sure the young person is dropped and picked up. Of course DBS checks will always be shown and be made readily available. I also have all the appropriate registrations with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) to ensure the safety of all data and information. Registration Number: ZA295825
